Mark Turgeon is the new head men’s basketball coach at Texas A&M:
COLLEGE STATION — Former Wichita State coach Mark Turgeon has been named the 20th men’s basketball coach at Texas A&M, Director of Athletics Bill Byrne announced on Tuesday.
“I’m thrilled to have Mark and his wonderful family join us in Aggieland,” Byrne said. “He’s one of America’s brightest young coaches, with a great heritage of basketball history. In most circles, you’re known by the company you keep. Larry Brown, Roy Williams, Bill Self and John Calipari among others have influenced Mark personally and professionally during his career. I know the Aggie Family will come to appreciate Mark the same way I do. He is a winner on and off of the court.”
