A step back from the usual Friday Funkishness fare for a Memorial Day tribute to the service members who have in past wars, and are today, putting their lives on the line in the service of our country.

Wes, Will, Cody, Ryan and Tim this one is for you as you all serve today in Afghanistan and Iraq. May God protect and defend you as you protect and defend what our country stands for.

For those who have passed – Dad, who left your family’s Panhandle farm and almost lost your life on Okinawa. Jim, my beloved stepfather, who served 24 years including Korea and Vietnam. I miss you both. But your memory lives on in the eyes and hearts of your grandchildren. They know your stories, your sacrifices. God bless you both.
