Semitough is a fortysomething fiftysomething sixtysomething (This is getting ridiculous) male who lives deep in the heart of Texas North Carolina. This blog will chronicle the ups, downs, and goings on of the Semitough family as they navigate the perils of suburban life. Semitough has varied interests which will be reflected in the posts found here. Also reflected will be Semitough’s tendency to refer to himself in the third person.

Mi Esposa: Update: As recent readers noticed, we lost Esposa to cancer some years back. Leaving her description here as a tribute. She will always be a large part of the Semitough story. The ravishingly beautiful life partner, soul mate, and opposite gendered special friend of Semitough. Esposa has been tolerating Semitough since 1988 when they met on a blind date. She is also the world’s greatest sales guru, rainmaker, and general all around phenom in the drill team/cheerleader/flag corps/dance market. If you find yourself in need of outfitting a whole whack of prancing dancers, drop Semitough a line and he’ll have the Esposa hook you up. 

My Anum Cara: Semitough’s Opposite Gendered Special Friend. They met online over 4 years ago and have cavorted ever since. Lots of fun had. Great places visited. Fantastic companions.

The Princess: The sixteen year (Now 30-something, married and mother of two) old daughter of Semitough and Esposa. The Princess is a lovely vision, like her mother, who is not only beautiful but smart and a dedicated high school athlete. Although she is easily distracted by pretty shiny things. 

The Energizer Buddy: The eleven year old son (now 31 and living in the Mile High City) of Semitough and Esposa. The Buddy is also an accomplished athlete, following in his older sister’s wake. Highly competitive, too smart for his own good, too smart for Semitough’s own good, and good looking to boot, Buddy’s ambition is to become an Abercrombie model so he can get free clothes. 

ShidZoo: The quadrapedal canine housemate of the Semitough family. Alas, ShidZoo has crossed the rainbow bridge.

Sargento: The latest addition to the family’s pack of mini-Aussies. Sargento is a super shedder event looking for a place to shed. The

Westsider: The Westsider is the opposite gendered special friend of The Princess. Westsider is a student, tennis jockey and works at one of those high tone, au naturel, organic, range fed type stores. Sprockets or something like that. RIP. Curb kicked 8-31-06 

Too many to name: All of the other frogs Princess had to kiss before she found her Prince.

 Prince Bobby: Husband of The Princess. Welcome to the asylum Bobby. 

Reggie “Flycatcher” McFly: Semitough’s baby brother. Mobile DJ, bidnizman and entertainer extraordinaire. The Lovely Heather: The opposite gendered special friend of Reggie. The lady responsible for bringing the Flycatcher to heel. Niece Lovlee: First and only born child of Brother Reggie. Now with a baby Lovlee of her own 

Number One: Semitough’s firstborn offspring. Padre to the lovely Tinker Belle. Grand Padre to Big Boy and Baby Belle. (Yes I know what that makes me so shut up, he explained.) 

ACE the Deuce: Second in line for the Semitough “throne” an honor for which he would probably not wish to vie for, ACE is Semitough’s second born male offspring. Now married to the Lady Cornhusker and father to the beautiful Deuce 2. 

Tinker Belle: Number One’s number one. Smartest, sweetest, prettiest little girl on the planet. If you don’t believe it just ask her Pappy. Go ahead. Ask me.
